Week of April 14th--All Students1) Believe it or not, the semester is almost over! You have just three weeks to finish your internship hours! If you don't know how many hours you need to complete your credits, please give me a call and I'll let you know.2) Invitations for the Sponsor Appreciation Ceremony have gone out. If your sponsor or parent does not receive an invitation by early next week, please let me know. The event is Thursday, May 8th at the University of Denver and is a REQUIRED event for each of you. 3) Your portfolios are due on Friday, May 9th. However you may turn your notebook in early at the sponsor banquet the day before. May 9th is also the last day to earn internship hours. 4) Please make sure to start asking your sponsors for your letter of recommendation. It is a required part of your portfolio and you will lose points without it. 5) If you attended the Denver Open Media field trip on Tuesday, your thank you note is due this weekend with your progress report. 6) Please make sure you look at the Transcript Summary assignment in your syllabus. That is also due as part of your portfolio. 7) Your two field trip worksheets are due in your portfolio too. Make sure the assignments are typed. 8) Even if you have finished your hours at your site, you are not "officially" done with your internship until I receive your portfolio. Please continue to send your weekly reports until you have turned in your portfolio. 9) If you have any questions about the end of the semester please give me a call. 10) Questions of the week-- (to be used for the newsletter which will be given out at the banquet): a) Where have you applied to/been accepted to for college in the fall? If you are not going, what are your plans after graduation? b) Have you had any opportunities provided by your internship (offered a job?, acknowledged for something special?, offered a scholarship?) c) What was your favorite experience at your internship? d) How did your internship shape your plans/goals for the future? e) What has the Executive Internship Program meant to you in terms of your education and/or personal growth?
