At present, we are only accepting applications for next year's 9th graders on a waiting list only basis. You may download the application form from our website, complete and return the application with 2 letters of recommendations from academic teachers, attendance record and transcript and mail all to me at 2650 Eliot Street, Denver, CO 80211. You may also fax material to me at 720-423-6604. Please try to send all material together....I will be able to respond to you faster.
10th, 11th and 12th graders, please follow the same procedure as above. However, as soon as we receive your complete file, I will call you to set up an interview.
School of choice students who registered with the School of Choice office by January 31 have been sent applications in the mail.
Students interested in registering for parttime career courses for next fall/spring should have their high school counselor contact me as soon as possible. Home school students can contact me directly.
Thank you for your interest in our exceptional school!
About Diane Cherry: Before I came into the education field, I worked for J. Walter Thompson Advertising, McDonald's, and Illinois Bell Telephone Company in advertising, marketing and sales. I began attending the University of Houston in 1980 and completed two Master's Degrees in special education and counseling psychology. I have worked for Denver Public Schools since 1988, 3 years as a special education teacher at East High School, 10 years as a counselor at George Washington High School, and now CEC as a career counselor and marketing coordinator. I am currently attending the Catholic Biblical School here in Denver.
While I grew up in Chicago, I have enjoyed living in Denver since 1987. I have a dog, Bella, a bouncy English springer spaniel, a yard/house which I love to putter in, and many friends to see movies, have coffee and solve world problems with. I help my father take care of my mother, who suffers from dementia. I love to travel and am going to Rome for 3 weeks in June with a possible extension to Israel.
I love working at CEC and enjoy the small school atmosphere that allows me to get to know the students well.
