"Smart Money For Teens" Web Page Project

Project = 70 points

Due April 28, 2006

As part of the requirements for completing the Business class, each student is required to complete a web site and make a presentation to the class about your site

You are the webmaster of a web site written for high school students who are interested in planning for their financial future. This web site contains information about savings, investing, credit, insurance, career planning

You will work to design your next web site, which will include

• Information  on the following topics

• Living On Your Own -  Tips when apartment hunting, how to pick a roommate, developing a budget, dealing with helicopter parents, best cities to live it, etc. 

• Protect Yourself  - identity theft information, car insurance information; health insurance, credit card debt, bankruptcy, renters' insurance

•  College and Career Planning - Comparison of tuition rates for state schools ( CU, Metro, CSU, CCD, Regis ), profile of a college, cool career, college interview preparation

• Editorial - Some people believe that it’s more important to work at a job you love that doesn’t pay well, versus a job that pays well but you don’t really like.   What do you think?  Write an essay that presents your opinion on this issue.

• Investments  - Your stock pick.  Recommend a company’s stock  to buy and give your reasons why you recommend this stock purchase.  Include in your recommendation the location of the company’s headquarters, its products and services,  historical price of the stock, any recent news about the company, any recent news about the industry.

Use the storyboard to complete the information about your web site.
