Money Magazine
Your group are editors for the CEC Money Magazine, a weekly paper written for high school students who are interested in planning for their financial future. This newspaper contains information about savings, investing, credit, insurance, career planning.
You will work with a team of 2 people to design the next edition of your newspaper, which will include:
- Articles on:
- Tips when apartment hunting
- Guard against Identity Theft
- § Comparison of tuition rates for state schools ( CU, Metro, CSU, CCD, Regis,
- An article of your choice
- Editorials on:
- Some people believe that it’s more important to work at a job you love that doesn’t pay well, versus a job that pays well but you don’t really like. What do you think? Write an essay that presents your opinion on this issue.
- Your stock pick. Recommend a stock to buy and give your reasons why you recommend this stock purchase. Include in your recommendation the historical price of the stock, any recent news about the company, any recent news about the industry.
- Puzzle
- This can be a word search, crisscross, cryptogram, letter tiles, etc.
- Include words from articles
- Advertisement
- These have to be things that a high school student would be interested in. Such as,
- Credit cards (VISA, Mastercard)
- Banks and their services
- Cell phone plans
- Cars
- College planning services
