The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)-
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a program funded by the Office of Migrant Education of the U.S. Department of Education, and is administered by institutions of higher education.

CAMP is designed to meet the academic, financial, and social needs of migrant and seasonal farm workers and/or their children, in pursing higher education. While the program provides its most intensive assistance during the students first year in college, the CAMP staff is available to assist students throughout their college experience.


Who May Apply for CAMP's Scholarship?
Any migrant or seasonally employed agricultural worker or his/her
children who:
* Has a high school diploma or GED and is either a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident
and has one of the three following qualifications:
* has worked a minimum of 75 days in agricultural
work within the last 24 months , or
* Is eligible or has participated in a Migrant Education Program under
chapter I-Migrant Education, or
* Has Participated in a WIA section 167 program.

What does the Scholarship include financially?

CAMP pays for the student's first 30 credit hours at Metro State College of Denver along with a monthly stipend for the student's expenses.  Other retreats and fees are paid for as well through this program.

J.C.I. Senate Foundation Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship must be for the first year of full-time study.   For a senior with leadership qualities.   Personal essay is required.  Additional information:  http://www.cojcisenate.org/forms/Scholarship_forms2006.pdf. ;;; Deadline:  December 28, 2009.

 

Hispanic ScholarshipFund Scholarship Program - for citizen or resident of Hispanic heritage with a 3.0 GPA who has applied for financial aid and will enrolled FULL-TIME in an accredited college next academic year.  Applications are available at www.hsf.net. Application deadline:  December 15, 2009.

 

Gates Millennium Scholarship – for seniors with leadership potential and a significant financial need.  Student must be African American, Native American, Asian or Hispanic, citizens or permanent residents with a 3.3 GPA who will be attending an accredited college or university full time.  The students need to demonstrate leadership and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.  Students need to fill out the application and obtain a nomination.  Deadline:  January  12, 2009.

 

Project PAVE Scholarship - for graduating seniors who have demonstrated how he/she has risen above an emotionally, physically or sexually violent experience(s) to attain personal achievement. Applications are available at http://www.projectpave.org/PAVEScholarshipApplication2007.doc.
Deadline:  January 15, 2009.

 

Rotary Club of Denver Technical/Trade Scholarship- for a student attending a DPS high school, interested in puruing a technical field with good attendance.  Application deadline:  January 30, 2010. 

 

Ian James (Wally) Wallace Scholarship Fund - for a student with a 3.0 GPA who will be pusuing a degree in Arts and Sciences. Applications are avilable at: www.ianjameswallace.org.  Deadline:  February 24, 2010.

 

National Council of Jewish Women – minimum $2000 scholarship for Jewish women who will be attending college in the fall of 2007. Two letters of recommendation are required.  Deadline:  March 15, 2009.

 

AEMP Foundation Scholarships - for students who are interested in heavy equipment technology.  Must have a 2.0 GPA.  Deadline:  May 1, 2010.
